Piano Lessons and Music Theory
Instruction
With Leonardo Zuno
Master of Music, SMU
In Piano Performance and Pedagogy
and
In Music Theory
Teaching in Highland Park,
University Park, and Dallas, TX
I currently teach at Dallas/Music,
an excellent music school in Snider Plaza, and I also give private home
lessons in the Dallas and Park Cities area (zip codes 75201, 75205, 75206,
75209, 75214, 75218, 75219, 75225, 75229, 75230, 75231). In May 2005, I
graduated with a master’s degree in piano performance and pedagogy from SMU and in May 2007 with a master’s degree in music
theory from the same university.
Currently, I teach as an
adjunct lecturer in music theory and class piano at SMU’s Meadows School of
the Arts. Throughout the year, I adjudicate at musical events across
the DFW metroplex. I also serve as a board member for DMTA and in the
music theory review for TMTA. I am also a member of MTNA and the
Society for Music Theory.
At Dallas/Music, I teach
private piano lessons as well as music theory to small groups. The
styles I cover are classical, jazz, pop, and improvisation. My
pedagogical vision is that of the student as an independent learner. I
deal with students as people who are eager to learn music at the
piano. I help them achieve success in various events throughout the
year, such as:
DMTA’s
Sonata-Sonatina-Baroque
Festival
Jazz/Pop
Contest
Achievement
Auditions
TMTA’s
State
Music Theory Test
Dallas/Music’s
